O merciful One, You came from on high, and condescended to Your three-day burial to save us from passions. You are our life and our Ressurrection, O Lord. Glory to You.

There will be two Divine Liturgies this week, Monday, February 2nd, in honor of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple and on Friday, February 6^th, in honor of St. Photios the Great. Orthros begins at 9:00 am.

ATTENTION! Our community has two different parishioners who are in need of drivers to help solve their transportation problems. One needs a driver three times a week to get to their medical treatments. The other needs a ride to and from the Divine Liturgy on Sundays. Please see Fr. John for further information.

There will be a luncheon after the Divine Liturgy today. For a goodwill donation you can get a nice, hot, home-cooked meal. Get two make sure you have enough for the Super Bowl!

The G.O.Y.A. Lasagna Luncheon is February 15^th! Please plan to attend!

The next G.O.Y.A. meeting will be, Sunday, February 8^th.

The Ladies Philoptochos will be passing a tray today for the Cardiac Fund & the St. Photios Shrine. Please support these philanthropic endeavors. The Ladies Philoptochos will be holding a Social Luncheon on Sunday February 22^nd, after the Divine Liturgy. The Ladies Philoptochos will be having a general meeting today after the Divine Liturgy.

Attention graduating high school seniors!

Student scholarship applications are now available for the Washington Metropolitan Area 40^th Annual AHEPA Awards. Students should be affiliated with either the AHEPA family or with a Greek Orthodox Church within the jurisdiction of the Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. The deadline to submit your student application is April 3, 2009.
